I brought my ‘95 Chevy S-10 in after blowing the clutch. I knew the truck had other issues too, but I kept pushing those fixes on the back burner till I could afford them. (Maybe some know that mantra.) Well, the diagnosis was bleak and seeing as how she gave me a few solid years of roundabout driving and moving stuff after buying her for $600—with another $1200 in repairs—I decided to let her go. I appreciated the mechanic’s honest appraisal. Not every place would advocate not spending money.
